Play as Boy or Girl in First-Ever Translation for BS Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets

A new fan translation (via Zelda Universe) has put out a full release of the Japan-exclusive BS Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets.

Some of you may be scratching your heads, thinking you’ve never heard of this Zelda game before – worry not! The game was exclusive to the Satellaview add-on for the Super Famicom, which made the Japanese console able to download games via satellite – back in 1997.

Featured above, you can view a trailer showcasing the fan translation, but be cautious – the narrators are somewhat cringe-worthy.

The game allowed players to select a male or female avatar prior to embarking on a quest that takes place within the very same Hyrule seen in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The game even had a new dungeon, in-game voice overs, varying weather conditions, and more.

If you want to give BS Zelda: The Ancient Stone Tablets a go, you should head on over to the fan-project’s website, preferably before Nintendo shuts it down.
