PixelJunk Inc. was originally revealed last year, a 2D sandbox in the same vein as Terraria and Starbound, although it definitely draws more comparisons to the latter, as it is set in space. The game has been rebranded to Nom Nom Galaxy, as the guys at Q-Games feel this name resonates with the experience the game delivers – creating your own interstellar soup factory empire.
The game features co-op gameplay in which you build your soup factories from small beginnings, collecting and harvesting ingredients, while also protecting your assets from rival soup corporations. Nom Nom Galaxy is still far from release, but it is getting Steam Early Access in the coming week on March 13th. If you had the chance to visit the BitSummit this year, the game was playable on the show floor.
Check out a new trailer that goes over what the game is about, and why they decided to rename it:
Q-Games is saying that Nom Nom Galaxy is on track to be released later this year on PC with Linux and Mac versions to follow sometime later.
