Pillars of Eternity II Switch port is cancelled

Publisher Versus Evil and developer Obsidian Entertainment have announced the Pillars of Eternity II Switch port is cancelled.

News that the Pillars of Eternity II Switch port is cancelled was confirmed on the publishers official Discord (via Reddit), where they replied to a fan asking if the port was still coming.

““Hey there! Unfortunately, after much deliberation, we have decided not to move forward with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire for the Nintendo Switch,” the publisher said.

Reasoning behind the Switch port being cancelled wasn’t confirmed, however Versus Evil has said before that the Switch’s hardware limits made it difficult to achieve stable performance with the Switch port of the original game, Pillars of Eternity.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has been available for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux (via Steam), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our very thorough review for the game here (we highly recommend it!).
