Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Delayed a Month

We’ve learned that Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is being slightly delayed.

The game will forgo its planned April 3rd release date for one on May 8th, for Windows PC. Developer Obsidian Entertainment said (via Eurogamer) they needed “a few extra weeks to polish and put those finishing touches on the game.”

The developer noted that everyone at Obsidian “has been working harder than Abydon himself to make every inch of it awesome, as well as incorporating all the great feedback we have been getting from everyone playing the backer beta.”

It’s worth mentioning console versions of the game are planned, but will come sometime after the PC release.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

Pursue a rogue god over land and sea in the sequel to the multi-award-winning RPG Pillars of Eternity. Bend the world to your will, as you explore the depths of infinite possibilities, including detailed character customization, total freedom of exploration, and more meaningful choices at every turn.
