The Irregular Corporation have announced Murder by Numbers, a mystery-puzzle game developed by Mediatonic (Foul Play, Hatoful Boyfriend, Fall Guys).

The game takes inspiration from the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series (even the series composer Masakazu Sugimori produced the soundtrack here). You talk to NPCs and find clues to uncover the true culprit in murders, presenting evidence to disprove lies- all in 1990s Los Angeles.

However, to find evidence you will need to solve Picross style puzzles (using numbers next to rows and columns to work out where to place squares to create an image.

The game’s characters are designed by Hato Moa, who also designed characters for and created Hatoful Boyfriend.

Murder by Numbers launches 2020 for Windows PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
