Rocket Panda Games announced they’ve acquired the Phantom Breaker intellectual property from MAGES., as they will carry the torch for the franchise moving forward.
The new acquisition includes the titular fighting game series, as well as its sidescrolling beat ’em up spinoff Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds.
Phantom Breaker: Omnia is the latest game in the series, a 2D fighting game which Rocket Panda Games released back in March for PC, Xbox One, Switch, and PlayStation 4.
Panda Games noted they’re going to explore “new directions for the IP” and that they’re “committed to maximizing the series’ potential for fans around the world.”
The company seemingly teased the next project in the series in the above and below artwork:
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Phantom Breaker franchise, and we couldn’t be more thrilled,” Rocket Panda Games’ boss M. Panda said. “We go way back with SakariP (Producer) and have a great relationship with MAGES., and we’re super happy to carry on the torch for the series. The team’s got some great stuff in store that we can’t wait to share with everyone in due time.”
