Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis just announced a really unexpected but weirdly fitting collaboration event.
For those unfamiliar, Uncle from Another World is an anime about a man who gets transported into a magical world, and eventually makes his way back. The character has a deep love for gaming, especially old-school Sega games.
His dreams may have come true, as the Uncle will now be immortalized in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis, the famous Sega MMORPG.

Before the start of the Uncle from Another World collab on August 9th, we are releasing a celebratory illustration. Uncle from Another World is a series based on a comic book by Hotondoshindeiru. The original comic has sold more than 3.3 million copies including digital, and is extremely popular.
The illustration shows Uncle, Elf and Mabel, whose avatar items will be features in this collaboration, along with characters based on the NGS protagonists. The character Uncle is a Sega-maniac from the old days. His expression of happiness at collaborating with a Sega game is very heartwarming.
In this Uncle from Another World collab, not only will there be a scratch ticket where you can get collab items, there will also be a limited-time login bonus and campaign coming as part of the collab.
The Uncle from Another World collab campaign includes a login bonus in which you can win building parts, based on the uncle from another world series, and mag evolution devices based on Sega gaming consoles.
At the same time, we will also be holding a beginners boost campaign for Battledia Yellow. Be sure to check it out too.
Now, we would like to introduce the new AC scratch ticket, Uncle from Another world style. The lineup includes avatar items to turn your character into Uncle, Elf or Mabel, weapon camos, and many more collab items.
Nostalgic Sega hardware design such as Genesis and Sega Saturn will also be featured in this collaboration, so be sure to look out for them as well.
There were also talks of an Oshi no Ko collaboration event coming in September, but nothing has been revealed about it yet.
Despite suffering from multiple delays due to Covid-19, Uncle from Another World, seems to have found quite a bit of success after wrapping up.
Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows (through Steam).
