Developer miHoYo announced details for the second playtest for Petit Planet, their new “cosmic life simulation game” for multiple platforms.
The game’s “Stardrift Test” is set to launch this month on April 21st for both PC and iOS devices. Signups are available on the game’s official site.
Here’s a rundown on the new test, plus a trailer:
Named the Stardrift Test, this upcoming beta will begin on April 21, introducing new Neighbors, enhanced Starsea Voyage experiences, and additional activities at the Galactic Bazaar. The game blends the joy of creation, companionship, and community-driven experiences, transforming the universe into a canvas of infinite possibilities.
In Petit Planet, players take on the role of a Planet Tender, stepping into the vast Starsea with a planet to call their own. As planets connect to form galaxies, new stories begin to unfold. Here, you can live however you like: farming, fishing, beachcombing, cooking… Spend relaxed and fulfilling days on your planet alongside your fuzzy Neighbors, and let your imagination run wild as you decorate your home or shape your own stylish landscapes. You can also explore the Starsea and forge connections with people and things at the ever-bustling Galactic Bazaar. Each bond you form with Neighbors and the world around you weaves into an ever-growing web of connections that keeps the universe flourishing. As these bonds deepen and planets thrive, Luca, the vitality that flows through all things, shapes new landscapes and brings wondrous changes to your world.
New Neighbors will make their debut in this closed beta, each bringing their own personalities, stories, and dreams to Petit Planet. As Planet Tenders, players can invite their fuzzy companions to settle on their planet, where heartfelt conversations, thoughtful gifts, and all kinds of meaningful interactions become part of everyday life. Life on Petit Planet is further enriched with updates to the Starsea Voyage and expanded activities at the Galactic Bazaar. With the Starsea Map, players can hop on their vehicles with Neighbors and set off to explore a variety of vibrant Islets. Beyond exploration, the Galactic Bazaar remains a lively social hub, where players can gather for coffee, relax by the bonfire, try fortune-telling, dance with friends, and even take part in auctions, creating wonderful memories together.
Confirmed for PC and mobile, with additional platforms in development, Petit Planet continues to explore its vision for multiplayer gameplay and immersive cozy experiences.
Petit Planet is in development for Windows PC and smartphones with “additional platforms currently in development.”
