We have the first of the reveals from the Atlus/Persona reveal from last night. The game is called Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, and it’s a spin off RPG for the 3DS.

The game features chibi sized characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4, both of which are trapped within the Yosogami High School from Persona 4, after hearing a mysterious clock tower bell ringing. This clock tower randomly appears in the school yard of the Yosogami High School, and sounds like it could be a key to why the heroes from Persona 3 were transported to the world of Persona 4.

In order to get the heroes from Persona 3 back to their world, they have to retrieve the lost memories of the new characters Zen and Rei, both of which seem to be he source of this whole scenario. How do you solve the mystery? You go into dungeons and fight shadows – how else?!

You can choose to play as the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad from Persona 3 or the Investigation Team from Persona 4, depending on who you choose, the dialogue and events will change and be depicted in alternate scenarios. The game has a command based battle system (like Etrian Odyssey), and is being led by the director of the most recent game.

The key staffers working on the game are Katsura Hashino (Chief Producer), Daisuke Kaneda (Director), Shigenori Soejima (Character Design), and Shoji Meguro (Composer).

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is set for the 3DS on June 5th of next year. You can also visit the game’s official site here.
