We’ve learned (via Hachima Kikou) the identity of the fifth party member for Atlus’ Persona 5, via the usual Japanese magazine leaks.

While scans are currently unavailable, we know the character’s name is Yusuke Kitagawa (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita), and he uses the Goemon Persona.

He’s an honor student who is focused on an art class at Kosei Public High School. He’s also a stay-in pupil of the famous Japanese painter, who is known as Madarame.

We’re speculating here, but we think the blue-haired boy shown a bit more in the opening video with lyrics is probably Yusuke. There’s also the fact that he’s painting in the video, so make of it what you will.

We’ve also learned the Persona names of all four other characters:

  • Protagonist: Arsène
  • Ryuji: Captain Kidd
  • Morgana: Zoro
  • Anne: Carmen

Finally, there’s a bit of story details for the game. The main characters get into some trouble in the city as the group the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts.” The group is likened to a vigilante party that only targets “corrupt adults,” stealing away their “corrupt hearts” in order to better this world.

Individuals who get letters from the Phantom Thieves will sometimes even admit to their own misdeeds, and completely reform their lives.

Persona 5 is launching Summer 2016 in Japan, with the North American and European release coming sometime in 2016.
