Atlus has announced the Japanese release date for Persona 5.
The hotly-anticipated RPG will launch for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on September 15th.
The developer also shared the game’s Japanese box art, which you can view above. A 20th anniversary edition for the game was also revealed:
Setting you back 13,800 yen, the anniversary edition comes with a multitude of goodies, including the game, an art booklet, a five-CD soundtrack compilation of music from the entire series, a treasure box, a custom theme, and lots of downloadable content in the form of background music and costumes:
The western release date is currently not confirmed.

May 5, 2016 at 9:19 amUnless atlus has been working on the translation forever it probably won’t be in english until next year. I’m hoping for an SMT 4 situation where we get the game like a month later though.

May 5, 2016 at 9:20 amPlease release on the PS3 in the west so I can undub it. I will not let that star Japanese cast go to waste for some hobos that Atlus USA found on the street and gave a “voice actor job”.

May 5, 2016 at 9:27 ami hope it’s not because it took over a year for smt 4 to come out in Europe and Australia

May 5, 2016 at 9:28 amEurope can either build a time machine or import it. Be glad it isn’t on a nintendo console or you’d be 100% fucked.

May 5, 2016 at 12:31 pmThis is Atlus though, creator of one of the very few region locked PS3 games Persona Arena.

May 5, 2016 at 12:36 pmAtlus has been doing localisation since before the delay to 2016, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s released around the same time. Europe is a little shaky now that NISA’s been dumped but hopefully SEGA steps in there.

May 5, 2016 at 12:38 pmHope we get this special edition oversees. Not sure about the Shadow the Personahog reskin DLC though.

May 5, 2016 at 1:05 pmIf they are limiting it to costumes and ps themes I’m fine with the dlc. However if they start locking content like they did with SMTIV then they fucked up

May 5, 2016 at 2:55 pmWasn’t Arc System Works the ones that region locked P4A?

May 5, 2016 at 9:57 pmNot funny bro or sis :(
Though to be honest we have nothing to worry about. This is Atlus we are talking about they won’t sell us gamers out and they won’t butcher their game

May 5, 2016 at 10:03 pmI’m fine with there being a gap between the Japan release. It gives people time to make the Social Link guides so I don’t miss anything.
