PEGI Listing Spotted for Final Fantasy VI on PC

FF6

A rating listing was found on the European ratings board, PEGI, for Final Fantasy VI on PC.

The site states that the release date for the game was November 26th, 2015, but seeing as that’s already passed that’s obviously not the case. However, it could mean that the game is very close to a PC release.

It’s also unclear whether the game will be a port of the SNES version or of the newer Game Boy Advance version (or even the Android version) of the game.

We’ll keep you posted on when a release date arises.

It’s going to be the eye-cancer inducing Android port isn’t it?

    FUCK

IX dates back from a time when Square still deleted the source code when they were done with a project (yes, really). The reason VII and VIII have had Steam releases but IX had not is that those games had existing PC versions for them to work with. IX is a lost cause unless they make a port of the PSX version (which is a lot more work).

I really want IX too. :(

Yeah….which sucks because I actually like the updated enemy sprites in the game. Now if only we could import those into the old school FF games with the better looking character sprites we’d be in business.

I didn’t realize they actually deleted the source code. I thought they were just too lazy to port it without a previous pc version to start with. Oh well, emulation works well enough for now.

You never know, they may just bung it into an emulator and sell it. Sega did that with almost every Mega Drive game they have on steam.

Have a source for that “Square deletes code” thing? Considering how much every FF game has been rehashed I find that hard to believe.

As long as the port is good i’ll grab it. It’s a pain in the ass to get it any other way and I haven’t had a chance to play it yet (I don’t like emulation)

It sounds completely stupid, but that’s a THING that happens in Japan. Visual novel localizers have run into it more than once and wondered what these idiots are doing by just deleting original code and assets.

It looks pretty bad. Mostly the character sprites and just awful shading.

I think I’ll just stick to emulating the GBA version with the music patch.

They could just wrap it in an emulator and release it that way.

Tactics should be next, though, and that one actually has its best version on mobile.

I’m sick of the ports too, but I honestly wish they would do a remake of FFVI like how they did the 3D remakes of FF3 & 4.

It’ll probably be an android port like the other older FF games on PC have been lately.

I think the version up on PSN is the awful PSX port with the fucked up loading times.

I don’t have a PS3 and Vita memory space is kind of an extremely valuable resource. I don’t have the cash to blow on a memory card just to be able to buy games, with that money I could just buy like 3 more games if I got them used or on Steam. It’s not worth it unless FF6 is better than the sum quality of the games I could buy for the same price as it and a new memory card (it won’t be, because there are some amazing games I still haven’t bought and can get dirt cheap)

THIS WAS THE GREATEST RPG OF ALL TIME. THIS WAS THE FF7 BACK ON THE SNES. Not of fans talking about this masterpeice. If its not an android port, day one buy full price. Beaten this game 10 times.

I don’t have my Wii anymore and Wii U memory space is also kind of at a premium (especially with Xenoblade X and it’s ridiculous install packs coming)
