PC Game Pass is adding Dune: Spice Wars

Dune: Spice Wars

Microsoft announced with publisher Funcom and developer Shiro Games that Dune: Spice Wars is coming to PC Game Pass.

Dune: Spice Wars will hit PC Game Pass “soon”, alongside its forthcoming big “Sand & Air” update that adds new units, features, and more. The strategy game has been available in Early Access for Windows PC via Steam.

Here’s a rundown on the release, plus a new trailer:

Dune: Spice Wars

Dune: Spice Wars is a must-have 4X strategy game for anyone who loves the Dune universe.

Since its world premiere announcment during The Game Awards last December, Dune: Spice Wars entered early access on April 26 allowing Shiro Games to refine their ambitious strategy game with the aim for a full release in 2023.

Set in the universe of Dune created by Frank Herbert, Spice Wars is a 4X real-time strategy game that allows you to choose your faction and to launch yourself into a war for the control of spice on the planet Arrakis. Whether you select House Atreides, House Harkonnen, House Corrino, Smugglers or Fremen, you will have access to specific bonuses that will dictate the best way to approach the game.

You will then have to recruit agents, build your first defenses, and start exploiting the territory around you before launching more dangerous expeditions in areas beyond your control. Dune: Spice Wars also requires politics and good relations with the Imperium – it’s up to you to decide how to interact with the cities of Arrakis, whether by diplomacy or by force, and above all to pay your taxes on spice… otherwise your place in the Landsraad could be jeopardized.
