Paradox Interactive has confirmed two exciting new games for Playstation 4 at this year’s Gamescom expo – Hollowpoint and Runemaster.

While we’ve been covering Runemaster, Hollowpoint is a totally new game – and both are coming to PC as well. I’ve taken the liberty of compiling information for both in concise blurbs, which you can find below:

Hollowpoint is described as an action co-op game, developed by Ruffian Games and set to arrive sometime in 2015. The story is set in the near future (the 22nd century to be specific), and it tasks players with leading secretive, private military corporations, which eventually can be taken out on missions for cash and reputation advancement.

The visuals are described as a mix of 2D side-scrolling action, and 3D targeting within the various environments. You can also fight alongside three other players online via cooperative play.

Here’s a list of the game’s core features:

  • Old School Meets Near-future: Hollowpoint is played in a blend of traditional 2D side-scrolling action with 3D targeting, challenging players to take down enemies in front of them as well as in the background of their surroundings
  • Plan and Execute: Each mission is procedurally generated along with objectives, level layouts, and events, requiring a mix of strategic planning and skillful action to complete – no mission is merely “routine”
  • Organisation, Corporation, and Cooperation: Team up with friends via Steam or PSN and take on contracts together, handling your personal Operatives to succeed – or fail – together
  • Upgrade and Adapt: Earn experience and skill points to upgrade Operatives, and outfit them with the right abilities, weapons, and equipment for the job

Runemaster is a tactical RPG in which you can build your own custom avatar, completely to your liking. Currently in development at Paradox Development Studio, the epic quest enables players to take part in their own sagas as they traverse a wide open, engrossing world spread out across six regions based off of Norse mythology.

Previously, we didn’t really know how combat worked in the game – but the debut gameplay trailer (featured above) has revealed just that. Players will fight it out via grid based combat, which also unfolds at a turn-based pace. The game is also promised to bring an “emergent” narrative that is weaved through ever-changing, procedural quests. Coming from this, the world is also described as “ever-changing”, so that every player can experience something different.

Which game are you guys more excited for?
