Palmer Luckey to Speak on HTC Vive Stage at Tokyo Game Show 2017

It seems like Oculus founder Palmer Luckey is getting cozy with his former competition, now that the tech entrepreneur and tinkerer has gone rogue.

The billionaire announced that he’ll be speaking on the HTC Vive stage during this year’s Tokyo Game Show – news he was seemingly under NDA to not talk about until just before the massive Japanese expo this weekend.

“Finally able to announce that I will be speaking on the HTC Vive stage during Tokyo Game Show! I think people will find it interesting,” Luckey announced on Twitter.

The news comes after Luckey sold Oculus to Facebook only to eventually part ways from the monolithic VR company he built. He was later found to be financing hilarious memes that literally affected the 2016 U.S. presidential election, but is possibly looking to get back into the tech industry, if this move to speak at Tokyo Game Show is anything to go by.

He could also just be speaking on behalf of the virtual reality industry as his device, the Oculus Rift, was quite easily the one most responsible with the modern resurgence of the VR scene.
