Overwatch 2’s Steam launch gets heavily reviewed bombed

Overwatch 2 Reviewed Bombed Steam

Overwatch 2 marked its official release onto Steam to coincide with its season 6 patch and found itself blanketed with overwhelmingly negative user reviews.

This isn’t due to a particular incident that has just occurred as often is the case during these situations, but players have seemingly been throwing out negative ratings onto the game due to some of the game’s or developer Blizzard’s past controversies.

These range from the company’s scandals with abuse to the PvE component being scrapped for Overwatch 2, despite being one of the major selling points when it was first announced. So one could say that players have been unhappy with the game for a while now.

As of the time of this writing, the store page lists the game as only having 10% positive reviews. A quick look also shows the positive reviews being written in jest while still mocking the game. Upon its launch on Steam, there was a peak player count of over 75,000 players with just over 28,000 as of this writing.

Overwatch 2 is available now for Windows PC (via Battle.net, and Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
