Overwatch 2 Christmas art mysteriously removes Ashe

Blizzard has removed female character Ashe from the Christmas art present on the Overwatch 2 main menu.

There is currently no explanation as to why Ashe was removed, but here’s a look at the original artwork, which included the pretty Ashe:

Here’s what the artwork was later changed to, removing Ashe from the picture:

The illustration was sketched by Dospi Jin, a South Korean artist.

Some players alleged the artwork was removed an hour after the Overwatch 2 December 19th update was released, while others say the art was changed after playing their first match for the day.

There is currently no explanation behind why Ashe was removed, many have theorized that perhaps Ashe was removed because her exposed thigh gaps were “sexualizing” her, while others believed Ashe was removed because it would make the art off-center, or because Blizzard wanted to put more emphasis on Mercy’s new skin.

Overwatch 2 has been available for Windows PC (via Battle.net), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
