Google has unveiled the results of the 2023 edition of its “Year in Search” report, and Yoasobi’s song “Idol” was the most-searched song of the year.
The report revealed the top 5 most-searched things of the year for several categories, and Yoasobi’s “Idol” was the most-searched song – it’s the the theme song for anime Oshi no Ko.
The theme song was so popular it even beat out Jason Aldean’s “Try That In a Small Town”, which was labeled “controversial” by certain “individuals”.
The song “Idol” has accrued 100 million views on YouTube in about a month, and reached the top of the Oricon song chart.
