Onee Chanbara Origin Gameplay and Broken By The Scream Music Video

Onee Chanbara Origin

D3 Publisher and Clouded Leopard Entertainment have revealed new gameplay trailers for Onee Chanbara Origin, along with a music video for Broken By The Scream.

As previously reported, the game is a HD remake of The Onechanbara and The Onechanbara 2. This includes a new art style and characters redesigned by the series designer Katsumi Enami, and “optimized storytelling.” The game is available in Japan, and launches October 14th in the west and other regions on Windows PC (via Steam), and PlayStation 4.

The story follows zombie-hunting half-sisters Aya and Saki; both forced to put aside their fight to the death to work together. The pair seek their father, who left a message saying “Eva” was the one behind his wife’s death (which subsequently drove Saki mad in her quest to avenge her mother).

This hack and slash adventure will task players with completing objectives will slaying zombies. Players can also use the Cool Combination mechanic that rewards well-timed combos, but novice players can still string together combos regardless.

As their weapons become caked in blood, the sisters can also turn into demons for a short period via Berserk and Xstatic modes- gaining tremendous power at the cost of their life energy. Each zombie hunter will also have unique abilities.

The new gameplay trailer shows off the game’s theme (Aihaki Minomono) by “Idol Metal” band Broken By The Scream (translation: Google Translate). You can find that below.

In addition, the game’s South Korean publisher Clouded Leopard Entertainment have posted their own gameplay overview (thanks Siliconera!) This video goes into more depth with the game’s mechanics, and has English subtitles on screen. You can find that below as well.
