One Piece: Grand Cruise Announced for PS VR, “Unprecedented” One Piece Game Also Revealed

This week’s Jump magazine (via Ryokutya2089) has revealed two new One Piece titles.

The first game is One Piece: Grand Cruise, and its in development specifically for PlayStation VR. The game’s release date, genre, and so on weren’t confirmed – however the virtual reality-focus was shown via explaining players can explore the pirates’ ship, and even interact with the Mugiwara Pirates.

More details for One Piece: Grand Cruise will be revealed during an event on July 22nd at Tokyo Tower, where a demo will let eight players enjoy the game together.

The second game is described as an “unprecedented” One Piece game that is code-named “Dawn” within Bandai Namco. The series writer, Eiichiro Oda, is working on the game alongside Toei Animation, Shueisha, and Bandai Namco. There’s lots of emphasis on the game being “unprecedented” from any previous game adaptation seen thus far, pointing to the game being something amazing, with lots of talent going into it from its music, world, and so on.

It’s worth mentioning One Piece: Grand Cruise is also in development within Bandai Namco.

We’ll keep you guys posted.
