One Piece English Funimation Dub Returns, Continuing With Episode 575 and Punk Hazard Arc

Funimation have announced after their year-long hiatus, they will return to dubbing One Piece.

The dub had previously halted at episode 574 last year. As Colleen Clinkenbeard (Luffy), and Justin Cook state (Director of Production); with the One Piece anime’s 20th anniversary, and the upcoming film One Piece: Stampede (which Funimation will also be dubbing) now was the perfect time to come back.

While no release date for the new episodes were confirmed, the dub will resume at episode 575 and the start of the Punk Hazard arc.

Funimation gained the licencing rights to One Piece in June 2007. The series was originally broadcast in the west by 4Kids Entertainment from September 2004 to November 2005 when the show stopped broadcasting. It was criticized by fans due to its heavy censorship. 4Kids Entertainment becoming defunct in February 2017.

One Piece: Stampede will premier in North America on October 24th in Japanese with English subtitles. Subsequent screenings in this format will also occur on the 29th and 31st. English dub screenings will occur on October 26th and 30th.
