Omega Strikers enters open beta for mobile devices

Omega Strikers

The Windjammers inspired soccer game Omega Strikers has entered open beta for mobile devices, from now through January 1st, 2023.

The game is the breakout title of developer Odyssey Interactive, which was founded by industry veterans who worked on games such as League of Legends and Apex Legends.

Earlier this year, we got to try the game early just a few hours before the floodgates were opened for the open beta on PC. What we got was a good start at expanding the “soccer-like” games genre (is that a real genre?) beyond Rocket League and I guess Lucio Ball.

But, in its current form Omega Strikers is an unfinished project – it’s fun and playable, but definitely unfinished. The team at Odyssey Interactive admitted as much in a recent news post where they announced the end of the open beta:

We previously announced that we expected development on the game to slow down somewhat after early December, but over the past few weeks we’ve realized we should put all of our small team’s focus into making our full launch as good as it can be. That’s why we now intend to formally end the Open Beta and take the game temporarily offline starting January 1st.

However this downtime appears to be needed to put the finishing touches on the game, as the anticipated full launch of Omega Strikers is set for sometime in February.

From now until the end of the beta, you can play the game on both PC and mobile devices. After that, it’s only a short month or two until the game’s full release.

Not sure if this game is for you? You can check out our hands-on preview for a deeper look here.
