Japanese beat ’em up game Ogre Tale coming to consoles in July

Publisher Komodo and developer MAGES. have announced console ports for Ogre Tale, their anime-themed sidescrolling beat ’em up game.

Ogre Tale is coming to consoles on July 11th across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PS4. A price is set for $19.99 and preorders are available for now (Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch), discounting the price down to $14.99.

The sidescrolling beat ’em up game has been available for Windows PC (via Steam) since 2020 – this is the first time its being ported to consoles.

A big update is now available for the PC version, it adds:

Fixes for Steam Deck

  • Fixed a bug related to frame rate.
  • Adjustment of behavior when connecting an external controller

Adjustment of some UI

  • Added a function for bulk sales in the store.
  • Added description to the special move detail screen.

Adjustment of game balance

  • Level cap changed from 50 to 100
  • Added “Nightmare” and “Nightmare+” difficulty levels.
  • Weapons with “Multi-Jump”, “Dash in the air”, and “Dash Attack” skills were added from the beginning.
  • Drop rate of items has been revised upward.
  • Lowered the number of times to raise the level of ultimate moves.
  • Lowered the conditions for obtaining some achievements.
