We’ve learned (from ga-m.com, via Japanese Nintendo) a new anime is coming based on Nintendo’s popular third-person shooter, Splatoon.

The new anime series will be an online-only run and it’s coming straight to YouTube, via CoroCoro. The anime will premiere on their YouTube channel on August 12th.

While CoroCoro originally debuted a manga based on the shooter that focused on four main characters and a somewhat comedic turf war battle, it remains to be seen what the anime will focus on.
