Oculus Prototype Game Alone Goes to Kickstarter

alone the witching hour ss 1

In case you missed our original piece on Alone, the game started as a prototype horror game for the Oculus Rift, but progressed into something much more than that.

One of the key differences between Alone and most other horror games is that it simulates the experience of playing a creepy horror game by yourself, within a digital apartment.

After getting many rave reviews, Alone has made the jump to kickstarter, so the developers at Greenwood Games can make the entire experience that much more terrifying and creepy.

You can check out their kickstarter pitch below:

When you first start out in your playthrough of Alone, you’re sitting on a couch in a very normal looking living room. Once you start playing through The Witching Hour (the game you play within the game), things from the game start to bleed into the room, making you question what’s real and what isn’t.

The Witching Hour is a first person, cooperative horror experience, with a catch – there are no other players. The developers are tight lipped on what this means exactly, but when nothing is as it seems with this game, we’re sure that there will be plenty of mind games afoot.

If Alone seems like your kind of experience (and you’re looking for a good reason to buy an Oculus Rift), you can pledge on their kickstarter here.
