Square Enix has released a playable demo for Octopath Traveler 0, their new prequel to their throwback role-playing game series.

The new Octopath Traveler 0 playable demo is now available for all platforms and lets players create their own avatar, play for a few hours, and carry save data over to the full game when it launches.

Octopath Traveler 0 is in development for Windows PC (via Steam and Microsoft Store) Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, and PS5, with a release set for December 4th, 2025.
