Nvidia has unveiled the latest iteration to their DLSS lineup of technologies with their version 3.5 which introduces ray reconstruction.
This update brings improvements to ray tracing, which Nvidia introduced back with their first iteration of RTX GPUs with the RTX 20 series. Ray reconstruction is meant to bring AI-enhanced ray tracing by replacing the denoising processes currently used by games to achieve standard ray tracing.
Unlike their frame generation technology that was introduced in DLSS 3, ray reconstruction is available to all RTX GPUs. This technology is set to make its debut in games this fall with Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Portal RTX.
