Nvidia’s previously announced DLSS 3.5 has officially been implemented into a game through Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 update. The hallmark improvement with this iteration of their DLSS technology is the introduction of ray reconstruction.

Details were previously reported here, but a short summery is that it aims to improve the image quality of ray tracing by AI to replace denoising solutions currently in use for such implementation.

This is thanks to the tensor cores found within Nvidia’s RTX graphics cards. Which also means that it’s supported on all RTX GPUs unlike their frame generation technology which only works on RTX 40 series GPUs.

Other games expected to receive this update include the upcoming Alan Wake 2 and Portal RTX.

As a result of the update also now being public. Third party online creators such as Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed have also posted videos detailing image quality improvements as well as criticism.
