Nintendo has confirmed they’re bringing the regular-sized New Nintendo 3DS to North America.
The handheld will be coming to North America on September 25th, via a new bundle that comes with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, two cover plates, and one Amiibo card for $219.99.
“More than 15 million systems in the Nintendo 3DS family have been sold in the U.S. alone,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “These new models offer additional fun ways to experience some of the great upcoming Nintendo 3DS games launching in the next few months.”
The New 3DS was previously only available in Japan and Europe, with us North Americans having to settle for the giant New 3DS XL.
There will also be a “Hyrule Edition” New 3DS XL sold exclusively at GameStop stores on October 30th, which comes with a gold-colored New 3DS XL. Setting you back $199.99, the handheld will launch alongside The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. The game will be sold separately, and there was no product shot provided.
Finally, Nintendo is going to launch amiibo cards with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. If you own an older 3DS, 3DS XL, or 2DS, you can use these cards with the “Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer” accessory, which is launching the same day as the game, for $19.99.
