Nordic Games has announced a move to reincorporate itself. The publisher will now be known as THQ Nordic.
While THQ was a publisher until it closed its doors in 2013, Nordic Games picked up 16 of its various intellectual properties, including the iconic Darksiders and Red Faction franchises.
“Whilst we take great pride in our Swedish roots and accomplished a great deal under the Nordic Games masthead, we decided it was time to incorporate the THQ name,” THQ Nordic said in a press release to Niche Gamer. “Those key brands will continue to shape our business in a meaningful way going forward, and THQ Nordic represents a core approach of doing much more than ‘owning’ a highly competitive portfolio of IPs.”
It’s also worth mentioning that Nordic Games have 23 game projects in development, 13 of which aren’t publicly known yet – according to the press release. However, the publisher is readying to announce them “in the next months.”
