Nintendo is abandoning support for two major services on their upcoming Nintendo Switch console.
In an interview with GamesBeat, Nintendo’s assistant public relations manager David Young said the company will not be putting Miiverse or StreetPass on the console.
When asked about StreetPass, Young noted that Nintendo is positioning the device as more of a home console than a handheld, in comparison to the Nintendo 3DS.
In regards to the Miiverse, he said the console will use other social media platforms for sharing, via the share button on the left Joy-Con.
By pressing the share button, you can share screenshots at launch. Eventually, Nintendo will have support to share gameplay recordings online.
The Nintendo Switch is set to launch on March 3, worldwide.
