No Season Pass for Mass Effect: Andromeda

In a departure from their typical approach to post-launch downloadable content, it seems like there won’t be a season pass for Mass Effect: Andromeda.

The news comes via BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn, who responded to a fan asking whether or not a season pass was planned, on Twitter.

Flynn simply replied: “Nope.” When fans naturally asked if he could elaborate, and what kind of DLC was planned, he said: “We’ll talk more about that later.”

It’s worth mentioning that EA’s Titanfall 2 doesn’t have a season pass as well – perhaps this is a sign the times are changing?

Mass Effect: Andromeda will launch across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 21st in North America and March 23rd in Europe.

More like it’s a sign EA doesn’t trust their franchises anymore, so it would rather see if a game sells first before commiting to making more content to it.

OK, EA, where’s the catch? I bet it’s microtransactions.

No Mass Effect game has ever had a Season Pass or even a GOTY or Ultimate edition. In fact, if you play on PC, you have to buy the DLC with the stupid Bioware Points.

They can also pull a Ubeshit and offer free DLC to compensate for the broken game, then release one lousy bit of DLC before moving on to the next game.

You can avoid the points bullshit by going on Amazon. You can but codes worth the exact amount for each DLC, though you still have to redeem the code on the Bioware website, then buy the DLC on Origin, then redeem that back on the website (absolutely retarded).

Considering the game has worse facial animations than the original from a fucking decade ago, I sure hope not.

Oh that ugly smug face, I can’t believe some devs were like: “yep, it looks good, keep it in”

… But why is it so ugly? I’m not playing it either way since the series is so robotic it makes Skyrim feel better about itself, but still. It looks like an early 2000’s Dreamworks movie. There’s just something about it that’s gross to look at.

Rumor that’s been joke about is EA making a DLC called “Diversity” for Mass Effect: Andromeda $20 extra if you preorder.

Honestly this is kind of a good thing. The worst part of season passes has always been paying money for content when you have no idea of the quality or quantity you’ll be getting. This at least gets rid of the situations where you get a season pass, the game tanks, and you wind up spending 40 bucks for a few skins and a map.

Or you can just avoid it by not giving a shit about Bioware’s trash.

You know, as much as we all like to complain about the many faults of Nintendo. The one thing I respect about them more than the other developers is: AT LEAST THEY RELEASE THE DAMN GAME BEFORE STARTING DO MAKE DLC!

Will it suck? The environments of the first trailer looked like they were recycled from the last section of ME2, and well the character animation needs work lets just say.

I have yet to see a flattering picture of a character from this game. Man-faced Asari really doesn’t sell their game to me. And then those darn awful gifs with the main character disarming that dude, looking completely dead-eyed through the whole thing. I think I know why I liked Tali so much…Bioware’s skills at making attractive faces are nonexistent.

There won’t be a season pass, but there will be overpriced expansions that will never decrease in price. Don’t fall for this play on words, they said no season passes, they never said no dlc which falls under any category of paid content. I will wait for a GOTY edition with the dlc on disc, I’m not falling for that GOTY dlc voucher garbage like they pulled with DA. Besides, my back log of games is pretty damn large so this game can wait until all the dlc is released anyway.

this is EA, they will do a busload of additional content and charge a fortune for it, it has been the business model for decades now. drop the game price i sales but keep people paying out heavy if they want the DLC.

  30. AnarKreig
    January 10, 2017 at 12:29 pm

They don’t need season passes anymore when they discreetly shove in microtransactions into all of their games.

One of the devs spends their time being openly racist on their twitter, and Bioware/other devs have noting to say about it.
