Developer Moon Studios announced the next free update for No Rest for the Wicked, which is currently in early access.

The new update will add cooperative multiplayer later next month, on January 22nd, 2026. The update has affectionately been dubbed the “No Rest of the Wicked Together” update.

To prep for the new co-op functionality, an open beta test is running now until December 22nd.

The developers today shared never before seen co-op gameplay and discussed new details of the upcoming co-op multiplayer update, appropriately titled No Rest for the Wicked Together. This immense update will bring long-awaited features like co-op combat, weapon updates, shared resources and homesteads, and much more, all playable with up to four players in shared persistent Realms. Studio director Thomas Mahler and other team members disclosed the official release date for the update as Jan. 22, 2026, along with announcing that a new public beta test featuring content from the impending update is available now to everyone who has purchased the game.

No Rest for the Wicked is the third full-length game from Moon Studios. Players take on the role of a “Cerim”, a member of a holy order imbued with mysterious powers, tasked with destroying the Pestilence, an ancient plague that has begun to consume the island Isola Sacra, itself already the site of great political upheaval and death. Navigate a dark, painterly world and battle against the forces of toxic corruption, cutthroat scavengers, and strange beasts. Build your Cerim from a fledgling survivor to a proper force to be reckoned with, utilizing numerous weapon types, enchantments, and cunning tactics to outsmart and overpower foes.

No Rest for the Wicked has been available in early access for Windows PC (via Steam) since April 2024. A full release is planned for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
