It’s a common joke nowadays that gamers have massive backlogs thanks to the advent of constant sales and discounts on popular games. Charity organization No Kid Hungry is hoping to leverage this as a fundraiser event.
For those who don’t know, No Kid Hungry is an advocacy group that aims towards eliminating child hunger in the United States.
The event, called The Summer Backlog Battle, encourages gamers to work through their likely large backlog of games through Steam and to stream themselves doing so. The event has already begun and is set to run to the end of August.
In essence, it’s very similar to reading challenges children may do during the summer at their local library, except for gaming. Those interested can sign up at their website here. However, it’s worth noting that one needs to connect their Steam account for them to use the public API for tracking.
Perhaps for some tips, one can also check out our own feature towards tackling their gaming backlog here?
