Nitrome announces classic Flash remasters with Nitrome Classics

Nitrome Classics

Developer Nitrome has announced Nitrome Classics, a new series of “maliciously restored” and improved beloved games from their Flash-games past.

The new restored classic games will be released for PC, Switch, and smartphones. The first release in their Nitrome Classics series will be Twin Shot Deluxe for PC (via Steam), Switch, and mobile.

“The good ol’ days of carefree gaming are back! We are bringing back beloved games of old re-equipped for modern gamers,” the company said in the announcement. “The Nitrome Classics range features select titles from our past lovingly ported from the ground up to modern formats like the Switch, Steam and Mobile with potentially more platforms to follow.

“All of the games are not just maliciously restored but improved with higher frame rates, full screen aspect ratios and with higher quality music. Many of the games will be packaged as mini collections within a franchise and include additional content not found in the original release.”

Here’s a rundown on the first three releases, plus an announcement video:

Twin Shot Deluxe

Inspired by classic single screen arcade games like Bubble Bobble and Snow Bros players must fight through a series of arenas using their bows and arrows which double as a way to help scale walls.

Silly Sausage

Meet our adorable pooch Silly Sausage, the gaming world’s most stretchy dog! Navigate this surreal platformer using unique elastic controls to traverse the environment. Stretch and weave your way through this doggy dream trilogy of edible delights and deadly meat grinding hazards.

Skywire

One of Nitrome’s earliest hit games! Control a cable car as it makes its way along the track to get the passengers safely through the levels of an out of control theme park.
