NISA Announce Rodea the Sky Soldier to be Delisted from 3DS and Wii U eShops

Rodea the Sky Soldier

NIS America (NISA) have announced that Kadokawa Games’ Rodea the Sky Soldier will be delisted from Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops.

We previously reported how NISA delisted several games from the Danganronpa on the PlayStation Store, as the publishing rights were being transferred to developer Spike Chunsoft.

Later Etrian Mystery Dungeon (also developed by Spike Chunsoft) was delisted from European stores (one of the last places the game was still available digitally). As such, it seemed that  Spike Chunsoft were reclaiming their IP publishing rights from NISA.

Now, NISA have announced that Rodea the Sky Soldier will be removed from the eShop for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. The game will be removed on September 30th.

Unlike the other removed titles; Spike Chunsoft is not involved with Rodea the Sky Soldier, Japanese publisher Kadokawa Games, or developer Prope. Rather than Spike Chunsoft seeking to regain publishing rights, it could be that NISA is seeking to return them to the owners. We will keep you informed as we learn more.

You can find the full rundown (via Nintendo) below.

Take to the skies and defend Garuda, the Sky Kingdom against the mechanized forces of the Naga Empire as Rodea, a humanoid flying robot known as a “sky soldier,” in this exciting third-person action-adventure game for the Nintendo 3DS™!

1,000 years ago, the terrestrial Naga Empire attempted to invade the floating continent of Garuda for its natural resources. But thanks to Rodea, who swore a promise to protect Garuda, their invasion was unsuccessful and Naga’s civilization fell into decline.

In present day, Rodea’s remains are discovered by a spirited young inventor named Ion, who promptly repairs and reactivates the former sky soldier. Though they were believed to have gone extinct, when the Naga Empire resumes the invasion it started 1,000 years ago, Rodea must take flight to keep the promise he made to defend Garuda once again!

For now, Rodea the Sky Soldier is available for Nintendo 3DS, Wii, and Wii U.
