Nippon Ichi Software president Tetsuhisa Seko has tragically died not long after his birthday at the age of 54 years old.
Seko, whose birthday just passed on January 21st, has died at 54 roughly a year after his tenure as president and CEO of the Japanese game developer began in 2023. A reasoning for his death was not given in the press release.
While Seko originally got his start working for SNK Corporation and Toshin, he joined SNK and was the head of their Business Content Division and Network Content Division among other positions, before he assumed his role as president and CEO.
When Seko took up his leadership position for the entire company, Nippon Ichi Software as celebrating their 30th anniversary and their goals were to “create IP with domestic sales exceeding 200,000 units” and to “connect the company to the next 50 and 100 years as a sustainable company.”
