Koei Tecmo have announced the release date of Nioh and Nioh 2 on PlayStation 5; with the latter also heading to Windows PC.

Firstly, the PlayStation Blog post by Team Ninja creative director Tom Lee reveals the third and final DLC expansion for Nioh 2- The First Samurai- will launch December 17th. Players are hurtled back into Otakemaru’s past, uncovering the secret of Sohayamaru, and confronting the first samurai. The DLC will also add a new highest difficulty option.

In addition, PlayStation 4 ports of Nioh and Nioh 2, along with complete editions including DLC for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and a bundle of both games have been announced. The following all launch on February 5th, 2021.

• Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition (available on PlayStation 4)
• Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition (available on PlayStation 5)
• Nioh Remastered – The Complete Edition (available on PlayStation 5)
• The Nioh Collection (available on PlayStation 5)

All of the PlayStation 5 titles will support 4K resolution, 120 FPS; and players able to transfer save data from the PlayStation versions of their games. Pre-orders for all of the above will begin November 20th.

Players can also upgrade from the PlayStation 4 version of Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition, to Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition for free. They can also upgrade from Nioh 2 to Nioh 2 Remastered; along with any DLC they already own. Physical copies can only be upgraded onto the PlayStation 5 with a disc drive.

Finally, Koei Tecmo America has announced that Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition will also be heading to Windows PC (via Steam) on February 5th. You can find the announcement trailer below.
