Nioh 2 Last Chance Trial Available Now Until March 1

Nioh 2

PlayStation have announced the “Last Chance Trial” for Nioh 2 is now available.

Speaking on the PlayStation Blog on February 13th, Sony Interactive Entertainment America’s Senior Content Communications Specialist Tim Turi detailed the upcoming detail, along with the game itself.

“The trial packs three missions for samurai to test their skills. Venture out Mount Tenno and face the deadly creatures waiting there with a variety of deadly weapons. Although your game progress may not transfer to the full game later, your created character’s appearance does! So pour as much time into crafting your samurai as you wish.”

Along with fighting terrible Yokai (spirits and creatures of Japanese folklore), the player can summon their own as part of special attacks. This is combined with Ki (essentially stamina) depleting with every swing of your weapon, block, or dodge roll.

Completing a combo and triggering a Ki Pulse with the right timing can restore your Ki meter however. This is needed to purge enemies that have been corrupted by the Dark Realm, granting them a Ki sapping aura.

The player will have access to nine different weapon types. Weapons such as katanas and hammers will return from the first Nioh, along side two new kinds- Switchglaives and Hatchets.

Players can also adopt different stances in battle, changing how each weapon type performs. “Low stance is highly defensive with short, safe, low-damage attacks. High stance prioritizes big, high-risk attacks that leave players open to lethal damage. Naturally, the medium stance is an all-purpose balance.”

The Last Chance Trial is available now until March 1st at 11:59 p.m. PT.
