    >not doing this before everyone buys a Slim, Pro, or S for the holidays

I don’t even know what they’re thinking anymore.

    OH BOY
    AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF AN ANNOUNCEMENT

Though in all seriousness its going to be an excrutiating wait. This handheld pushes all the right buttons for me. I need my HD Pokemon and HD mainline SMT.

All of those are consoles. Consoles don’t compete with handhelds.

    Indeed they do not.

I kind of really want this (at a low price point). I want a system to rest on my belly in bed and the controls at the side look comfy for that at least.

Something to play for 5 mins until the narcolepsy kicks in and I wind up with it under my side, burning my kidneys as I sleep as the battery gently drains.

Considering that the device is going to be a handheld and will be sold at a profit for Nintendo Im not expecting much.
Might have two non censored exclusives worth a try.

So let me get this straight:

    >Nintendo announce a new console
    >Turns out it’s a unholy abomination of handheld and console
    >Early reports indicate that the battery life is only three hours
    >The only game actually confirmed to be on there is Breath of the Wild with Skyrim, A four going on five year old game isn’t actually confirmed to be on the bloody thing
Oh and you release information in October, and then delay information until January; information such as price, the actual games on the bloody thing.

Jane get me off this crazy thing.

They still won’t be able to keep up the hype for 2 months after the initial reveal. A smarter thing to do would’ve been to let developers announce the games they have for the system every week until that full showing on the 12th.

If that’s really what they’re doing, they’re on thin ice. The Switch is not as powerful, is too new, and doesn’t have the history of support that makes other consoles safe purchases. Its too much to expect that people will be buying the Switch on the basis of having something better than a PS4 or an Xbox One.

Nintendo should just push it as “a handheld that can play some console games and is usable on your TV!” and stick to that. That’s where the Switch’s strength lies.

That just means all of Nintendo’s games will be in one place. And that I can play traditionally handheld games on a TV.

There are a lot of pros and cons to this rapid release strategy, especially when it’s being released when it is, I guess we’ll see how it turns out.

Too bad that it is just a glorified tablet. And if they are not selling it at a lost then it will not be as strong as a PS4.

    Of course.

The machine does look amazing, though. It’s what the Wii U should have been in the first place.

    Definitely.

The real competition is phones, ever since Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone. And Nintendo hasn’t been winning that war.
Not sure if a Nintendo branded tablet with HDMI out is going to do it. It needs to be cheap cause everyone already has €$700 flagship phones.

Mainline games and spinoffs might go to PS4 since P5 is there. We don’t even know if the engine Atlus made would even work for this thing.

Learn? You mean having to wait to learn more about the Switch?
Yeah, I can relate but i’m somewhat patient.

As long as Nintendo doesn’t fuck it up with their odd tight-lip on the system…then i’m fine.

*Hopes a ton of interesting games are announced by then.

The potential of it crashing and burning is there…
But at this point, there’s still the possibility of it not
    turning out bad.

I’m hesitant, keeping my hopes on the low and keeping a
keen eye on the system…with caution I swear, Nintendo…
Do not FUCK UP. Just don’t fuck up…

    That is all.
