Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch online service will launch a bit later this year.
The hybrid console’s paid online service will launch sometime in September, news confirmed during their latest financial results briefing.
“We reported previously that the service would launch in 2018, and now the official start time has been set to September 2018,” Nintendo president and CEO Tatsumi Kimishima said. “Work is progressing on ways to further heighten the gaming experience for consumers. Details will be made available as they are finalized.”
You can find all we currently know about the online service here in our previous report. I previously wrote an editorial detailing what I think the system’s paid online needs to be competitive – you should give that a read too.
