Nintendo Reveals Blast Ball, a Multiplayer-Focused Mecha Soccer Game, for 3DS

Nintendo has announced Blastball during the 2015 Nintendo World Championships.

The new game is coming exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS, and it puts you into an arena, in which you fight 3v3 in your mecha. The goal is to shoot at a ball, in the hopes of sending it through your opponent’s goal.

Every time you score – your opponent’s goal becomes increasingly smaller, and you can even attack your rival mecha, sometimes even disabling them. You can hold down your A button to charge a shot, as well as block the ball physically with your mecha. However, the latter comes at a cost – you’ll sacrifice yourself to spare losing a point to your opponents.

It looks like something that would normally be a minigame. No idea how they’d ever make it worth full price.

Doesn’t even have lolis in spats.

This looks like a multiplayer Mii Plaza game.

Not sure I get the negativity about this which is springing up everywhere. Yeah, it’s a daft, shallow game, but so is that Kirby fighting game for the 3DS and that’s fun.

If they release it for 5$ or something it could be a great little distraction.
