Nintendo is Going to Live-Stream the Pokemon Trading Card Game U.S. National Championships for the First Time

The Pokemon Company has announced some pretty awesome news – this year’s U.S. National Championships for the Pokemon Trading Card Game are going to be live-streamed.

This is the very first time the National Championships for the Trading Card Game have ever been live-streamed, and it will be viewable from Twitch.tv/Pokemon.


The 2014 Pokémon U.S. National Championships will go down from July 4th to the 6th in Indianapolis, Indiana.

You can find the schedule for the live streams below:

  • Saturday, July 5, noon–5 p.m. EDT: Pokémon Video Game Swiss Rounds
  • Saturday, July 5, 5–9 p.m. EDT: Pokémon TCG Swiss Rounds
  • Sunday, July 6, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. EDT: Pokémon TCG Top Cut and Finals
  • Sunday, July 6, 2–5 p.m. EDT: Pokémon Video Game Top Cut and Finals

Competitors and fans alike that make it to the nationals will get a special edition Shiny Mamoswine for a copy of Pokemon X or Y. The Mamoswine itself will be level 50 and it will know the following moves: Icicle Spear, Earthquake, Icicle Crash, and Rock Slide. Lastly, the Mamoswine has an Adamant Nature, comes packed with the Thick Fat Ability, and is holding a Choice Scarf Item.
