Nintendo is Following Fan Feedback for Zelda on Wii U

So we previously reported on how the protagonist shown in the Legend of Zelda Wii U trailer was possibly not the long running series’ hero, Link. Fans generally started going wild, both in a good and bad way, and the series was looking to get a pretty big switch up from previous traditions.

Later, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed that he was simply joking, and that people misinterpreted his joke and literally thought that there might be a chance at a female (or non-Link) protagonist. However, things got a bit more interesting with another comment he made to MMGN:

“That might be something that consciously we kind of did, but not to say anything specific—I am not saying anything specific—but, I am hoping people continue to comment, and I will continue to follow the fan comments and reactions to the trailer. I am certainly curious, and I am sure there are things we as developers can glean.”

So there you have it. We don’t really know much else for the game, but we’ll keep you guys posted.
