When Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, a Nintendo 3DS remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden, many fans were happy. However, there were some fans who hoped the game would be for the Nintendo Switch.
Now, we’ve learned that Fire Emblem Echoes is more than likely the final game in the series for the Nintendo 3DS, according to series producer Hitoshi Yamagami. The producer said in the latest Dengeki Nintendo (via Japanese Nintendo) that Echoes is probably the final game in the series for the 3DS.
Fire Emblem Echoes is the third game in the franchise on the 3DS, after Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates. There’s also the upcoming Fire Emblem Warriors, however that’s also getting a Nintendo Switch version.
An untitled Fire Emblem game is also being developed exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, so perhaps Intelligent Systems really is saying goodbye to the Nintendo 3DS. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is launching in North America and Europe on May 19th.
