Nintendo has filed a new trademark that has us wondering if the company is readying another throwback hardware re-release of sorts, following their NES Classic and Super NES Classic releases.
The new trademark (via Japanese Nintendo) is for the Nintendo 64, the company’s third home console and the follow-up to the Super Nintendo.
The mark includes descriptions for things like TV Game Machine, TV Game Programs, Downloadable Digital Programs, ROM cartridges, and more.
Could Nintendo be readying another throwback hardware re-release? Only time will tell, but considering how well both the NES Classic and the Super NES Classic have sold, it only makes sense.
