Nintendo Files New Animal Crossing Trademark

While Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has been available for mobile devices, many fans of the series want a true new entry for the franchise – and hopefully for the Nintendo Switch. Now, we’ve learned that Nintendo is possibly gearing up another game in the series.

The news comes via a new Japanese trademark filed by the company (via JapaneseNintendo) for a home video game machine, portable electronic game machine, smartphone devices, stuffed animals, and more.

Here’s a look at the mark itself:

The last mainline entry in the franchise was Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which released way back in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS. A pair of amiibo-focused boardgame-like entry named Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and Happy Home Designer were released in 2015.
