Nintendo has sadly pulled the plug on Project Giant Robot, the Wii U mecha game that was stuck in development for a number of years.
The game was originally shown at E3 2014, alongside tech demos for projects that later became Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard.
Despite not having an official name, Project Giant Robot was a breakaway from their other titles, enabling players to destroy cities as a giant robot.
Nintendo corporate published their latest earnings report, where the game was curiously missing. Now, we’ve learned the game has officially been canned. “We made this decision after considering our overall product and development strategy,” a Nintendo representative said to Polygon.
