Nintendo has announced that both Nintendo 64 and Nintendo DS games are heading to the Wii U Virtual Console today during their Nintendo Direct broadcast.

The classic games will be available today, and they’re starting off with Yoshi’s Island DS for $9.99, and Super Mario 64 for $9.99.

The coming lineup of games include:

  • April 9 – Yoshi Touch & Go ($9.99) and WarioWare Touched! ($9.99)
  • April 16 – Doney Kong 64 ($9.99)
  • April 23 – Mario Kart DS ($9.99)
  • April 30 – Paper Mario ($9.99)

While Nintendo 64 games will vary between $9.99 to $11.99, DS games will go between $6.99 to $9.99. If you already own Nintendo 64 games on the Wii, you can re-purchase them at a discounted price on the Wii U. When playing a DS Game on your Wii U, your TV and Wii U GamePad will give you several dual screen layout options. Some games may use your TV monitor as the main screen, while others might use both as a connected screen. You can pick and choose to find something that fits your preferred style of play.

For those Nintendo 64 fans out there — you can pick and choose between three different control layouts, and then map the buttons to your choosing. If the game had a rumble feature on the N64, it will rumble on the Wii U GamePad. It’s also worth mentioning that games from both platforms can be played entirely on the GamePad.
