Ninjala Delayed to June 24 due to Coronavirus

GungHo Online Entertainment have announced a a delay in upcoming free-to-play arena brawler Ninjala, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As we reported in our prior coverage, Ninjala is an online action game, where players control young descendants of ancient ninja clans. Players can run along walls, and utilize “Ninja-Gum” weapons to pummel their foes.

In the announcement video below, it is stated that the game has been delayed from its original May 27th release date. This is due to the coronavirus pandemic hindering development. More details will come via the official website at a later date.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic (also known as COVID-19 officially, or Chinese Flu to others) has affected many worldwide, from businesses to public gatherings and events.

This includes postponements of GDC, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the physical events for EVO 2020 and Tokyo Game Show 2020, and cancellations E3 2020 (including digital events), the physical event for Gamescom 2020, and Comiket 98.

We also reported Japanese ratings board CERO finally resuming business, along with The International 2020 tournaments for DOTA 2 being delayed to 2021.

The Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering are mapping the virus’ spread [12]. As of this time of writing, there have been over 3.847 million total confirmed cases worldwide, and over 2.293 million active cases. There have been over 269,000 deaths, however over 1.285 million people have made a “total recovery.”

Japan has had a total of 15,447 cases (9,972 active cases), 577 deaths, and 4,918 recoveries.

Ninjala launches June 24th on Nintendo Switch, and will be free to play.
